OSU High Performance Meet Leads to RiverHawk Top Marks

The RiverHawks Track & Field teams went up against 37 other teams at the OSU High Performance Meet in Corvallis this past weekend, seeing teams from NCAA D1 to other NWAC teams. It was another weekend with on and off clouds, rain, wind, and sunshine. The Hawks have really been put to the test this season while not only battling their opponenets, but the inconsistent weather as well.

Leading the RiverHawks to a win was Zachary Holland in the men's javelin, with a toss of 77.00m/252-7ft he threw his 3rd best throw ever, and a foul that would have easily been a personal best. In women's shot put, Leonie Samuels took home a 3rd place finish against tough competition wioth a throw of 13.62m/44-8.25ft, just short of her personal best. Gabriela Rudd opened up her season competing in the women's pole vault, and cleared 3.37m/11-0.75ft to take 6th in the event. Donovon Bruce ran a collegiate best and broke his own school record in the men's 400m with a tijme of 50.30. Rounding out the Hawks top 8 placers was Jadyn Vermillion in the women's triple jump, she took 8th with a jump of 10.45m/34-3.5ft.

The RiverHawks will next compete at the NWAC South Regional Championships at Lane CC on Saturday, May 7th.
