Track and Field Continues Their Season at Raider Invite

The rain held off for the day (for the most part), but the RiverHawks faced another track meet with wind and cold temps at the Raider Invite at Southern Oregon University on Friday & Saturday, April 15th-16th against 8 other teams.

On the women's side, Leonie Samuels claimed her 5th win this year in the shot put with a throw of 13.42m/44-0.5ft. In the pole vault, Genessa Eldredge took 5th place with a clearance of 2.93m/9-7.25ft, her best jump of the season. Taking 9th place, but with a significant personal best throw, was Danielle Christenson in the javelin. She made a toss of 31.53m/103-5ft, beating her previous mark by over 4m/13ft.

In the men's javelin, Zachary Holland had several consistent marks with his best of the day being 73.66m/241-8ft to win the event. Closely behind Zach, was Colby Neron, also in the javelin, who took 3rd place with a throw of 56.60m/185-8ft. Also contributing to the RiverHawks top 8 placers, was Alex Duguid-Green in the discus with a throw of 41.37m/135-9ft and 5th place finish. Dustin Baze took 7th in the 200m with his second best time of the season in 23.29.

Hawks will compete next weekend at the Oregon Relays (for those who qualify) hosted by University of Oregon, or at the Steve Prefontaine Classic hosted by Southwestern Oregon CC.
