Bruce ran a lifetime best and broke his own school record in the men's 400 to win the Southern Region meet with a time of 49.63 seconds. His mark is an A standard and moved him to the number two spot on the rankings. On the day, he beat the #1 ranked athlete in the race by .02.

"Bruce has been knocking time off his 400 throughout the season, but this was a big PR for him. I think Bruce can do something special at NWACs this year, and I look forward to seeing him progress into next season," said Sprints Coach Renate Richardson.
