RiverHawks finish 3rd

Both of the cross country teams finished third at the NWAC South Region Championships on Friday. The ladies finished third by way of a tie breaker with Treasure Valley. Both teams finished with 85 points. Sanyana Felipe led the way for UCC in fourth place followed by Analise Miller in 8th place. Sanyana earned first team All-Conference honors with her finish while Analise earned second team All-Conference. Southwestern Oregon won the team title with 26 points followed by Lane with 76 points. Rounding out the team was Nallela Mather (23rd), Mya Vigil (28th), Jessica Easterly (30th) and Jamie Witt (37th). 

The men had three runners in the top ten. Seth Rincon led the way with an 8th place finish followed by Viggo Beck in 9th place and John Patterson in 10th. All three earned second team All-Region honors for their efforts. Lace Community College won the team title with 21 points followed by Southwestern Oregon with 45 points followed by the RiverHawks with 85pts. Marshal Haswell (32nd), Vincent Romero (34th) and Elija Williams (41st) completed the team. 

Umpqua will compete next at the NWAC Championships on Monday, November 10th. The races take place at The Course: Spokane Valley in Spokane, Washington. The men race at 11:00am followed by the women at noon.
