Umpqua Community College Women’s Obstacle Course Racing has added a new team member to the squad for the fall of 2017. Adrionna Talyor, a member of the UCC women’s basketball team, has signed with UCC to compete for the inaugural RiverHawk OCR team.
Taylor attended Rex Putnam High School in Portland, Oregon where he participated in cross country and women’s basketball. She was a member of the UCC women’s basketball team that went 29-3 and reached the NWAC Final 4. She had season highs of 6 assists and 7 rebounds against George Fox University.
Coach Bowden had this to say about her newest signee, “AD is a very good athlete with an outstanding work ethic. We are excited about the energy she will bring to the program and her level of competitiveness.”
Umpqua’s OCR team is the first of its kind in the country and will begin competing in the fall of 2017. They will compete in races both in the fall and spring and sponsor teams for both men and women.
Umpqua’s Department of Athletics is composed of nine varsity sports teams including four men's teams (basketball, cross country, wrestling and obstacle course racing), and five women's teams (basketball, cross country, volleyball, wrestling and obstacle course racing). Umpqua is a member of the Northwest Athletic Conference in all sports except men’s and women’s wrestling and obstacle course racing. For men’s wrestling UCC belongs to the National Junior College Athletic Association and for women’s wrestling, the Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association.
